Generational Garage Doors was founded here because we believed homeowners deserved better than a stranger dispatched from a call center who'd never see them again — someone who knew the neighborhood, knew the homes, and stood behind the work with their name on it. We're a small, family-operated business, not a franchise.

What We See Most in Martinez Homes

Martinez has a wide mix of home ages. Older homes in downtown and Vine Hill often have original torsion springs well past their 10,000-cycle service life. Newer builds near Hidden Lakes tend to have belt-drive openers that occasionally need logic board or sensor replacements.

Garage Door Repair FAQ — Martinez, CA

How quickly can you get to my home in Martinez?

Since we're based right here in Martinez, we can typically reach any address in the city within 30–60 minutes for a door that won't open or close — broken spring, snapped cable, off-track or crashed door. Openers, new doors, and estimates are scheduled. We answer 6am–9pm, and if we ever miss your call, we call back. Call (925) 316-8384, or text a photo of the whole back of the door with the broken spring in frame.

My garage door made a huge bang and now won't open. What happened?

That loud metal bang is almost always a torsion spring snapping — one of the most common garage door emergencies in Martinez. Stop using the door immediately. Call, or text a photo of the whole back of the door with the broken spring in frame, and we can usually diagnose it before we arrive and complete the repair same day.

How much does garage door repair cost in Martinez?

It depends on what's actually wrong — a spring, a cable, an opener, or a door that needs replacing. We publish our pricing openly and give you a written estimate before any work begins, so there are no surprises. See our full pricing page.

Do you work on older garage doors in Martinez's historic neighborhoods?

Absolutely. Many homes in downtown Martinez and Vine Hill have older sectional or one-piece tilt-up doors we know well. We give you an honest repair vs. replace assessment — we'll never push a new door if a repair will do the job right.

Are you licensed and insured to work in Martinez, CA?

Yes. California Contractor's License #1113495 — fully licensed, bonded, and insured. Verifiable on the CSLB website. We're also a proud member of the Martinez Chamber of Commerce since we opened.

★★★★★

"Dustin was such great help. My wife and I were in the middle of moving and we heard the loudest metal bang on our garage door. Couldn't figure it out. Anyways, I messaged Dustin and he was like it was probably a spring. I sent him a few photos and within 30mins he was at my house with the parts. Took him about 15mins and we were up and running! I'd suggest anyone call him for garage door help."
