Clopay FAQ

Are Clopay doors the same as the ones at Home Depot?

Same manufacturer, usually not the same door. Home Depot carries Clopay's builder-grade lines — Classic and Gallery in the 1-layer and 2-layer tiers — ordered off a stock size chart and installed by a subcontractor. We order across the full catalog, including the 3-layer polyurethane models and the Canyon Ridge, Coachman, Modern Steel, Avante, and Reserve collections, sized to your opening after we measure it, and installed by the owner. A polystyrene Coachman and a polyurethane Coachman look identical from the driveway and perform completely differently. We'll show you which one you're getting.

How long does a Clopay door take?

Every Clopay door is special order. Most collections run 4 to 8 weeks from order to install depending on the design and finish. Canyon Ridge and painted or Ultra-Grain finishes tend toward the long end. Reserve Wood is longer. We give you the real lead time for your exact door at the consultation, not a generic range. Which Clopay door is right for a modern farmhouse?

Two directions. Traditional farmhouse: Coachman in white with black hardware, or Bridgeport Inlay with the crossbuck design. Modern farmhouse: Bridgeport Steel in Narrow panel, Modern Steel flush in white or black, or Canyon Ridge Modern in a plank layout for the wood look. Bring us a photo of the house and we'll narrow it in a minute.

Do you handle HOA approval?

No — you do, and we make it easy. We don't contact or negotiate with your HOA; that relationship is yours. What we do is give you everything they'll ask for: the manufacturer spec sheet, door image, color and material information, and anything else on their form. You submit it, they approve it, and we schedule the install once you have approval in hand. Clopay's catalog depth helps here — if the HOA wants a specific panel style or color, there is almost always a Clopay option that matches.

How much does a Clopay garage door cost installed?

It depends on the collection, the construction tier, the size, and the finish. A Classic Steel and a Canyon Ridge are very different doors. Use Build & Price for an installed range on the door you're considering, or call for an on-site consultation and an exact number.

Do you install Clopay doors in Solano County?
