Alumadoor

Alumadoor builds one thing: full-view aluminum and glass garage doors. Extruded 6063-T6 aluminum frames with integrated struts, 6 mm glass, commercial-grade hardware, and sealed bearing rollers. Fewer color choices than the CHI or Clopay glass doors, and a lower price to match. If the modern glass look is the goal and a standard finish fits your house, this is the door we reach for first.

Alumadoor FAQ

What's the difference between Alumadoor and the CHI or Clopay full-view doors?

Same idea, fewer options, lower entry price. Alumadoor offers three anodized frame finishes plus powder coat and eight glass choices, non-insulated only. CHI Full View and Clopay Avante offer more frame colors, more glass types, and insulated-frame versions. If you want the glass-door look and one of the three standard finishes works for your house, Alumadoor gets you there for less. If you need a specific frame color, insulated extrusions, or a wall-stacking door, we'll point you to CHI or Clopay.

Can people see into my garage?

Only if you want them to. Frosted, White, and Black glass give full privacy with full light. Smoke and Tinted cut visibility without blacking it out. Mirrorpane reflects during the day. Clear is clear. Most homeowners in Contra Costa and Solano go Frosted.

How long does an Alumadoor take?

Every Alumadoor is built to your size. Common sizes usually run 2 to 4 weeks. Non-standard sizes run 6 to 10 weeks. One honest caveat: the manufacturer keeps only a small number of common sizes ready, so on occasion a common size also lands in the 6 to 10 week window. We confirm the real lead time for your exact door at the consultation, before you commit. If you need a door this week, our in-stock steel doors are on the garage doors page.

Is a glass garage door a problem for a west-facing garage?

It can be, with clear glass. Tinted, Smoke, and Low-E glass cut heat and glare, and Frosted diffuses direct sun. If the garage is a workshop or gym, tell us at the consultation and we'll steer the glass choice.

Do you handle HOA approval?

No — you do, and we make it easy. We don't contact your HOA; that relationship is yours. We give you the spec sheet, door image, frame finish, and glass information for their form. You submit it, they approve it, and we schedule the install once you have approval in hand.

Do you install Alumadoor for businesses?

Yes. The same door works for restaurants, breweries, and event spaces — patios that open up, walls that let light in. Alumadoor builds them with commercial-grade hardware. Call and we'll talk through the opening.

How much does an Alumadoor cost installed?

It depends on the size, glass, and finish. Use Build & Price for an installed range, or call for an on-site consultation and an exact number.
Dustin Cantu, owner of Generational Garage Doors

Every Door We Sell, We Install Ourselves.

Glass doors are heavier than steel and less forgiving of a sloppy install. The frame has to be square, the springs sized to the real weight, and the opener matched to it. The owner measures, the owner hangs it. No subcontractors, no franchise crews.
